The teaching lineage of Simonis-Knight style of Fijian massage in the U.S. begins with Lolita Knight.

Here is a detailed, but somewhat dated, description of her professional background: http://fijianmassage.com/courses/references.html

I attended training with Lolita in June 2008.  Her workshop is very heavy on the "foot on" trades, with less time devoted to listening to lectures than many workshops I have been to.  The class size at the workshop I attended was very small, and time was saved towards the end of the advanced workshop for each student to trade with the instructor.  Being able to receive the work from the originator gives you a true sense of what the strokes are supposed to feel like; being able to give the work to the instructor allows true feedback on whether you've "got it" and what improvement may be needed.  Having had the experience of signing up for a number of workshops with other instructors which were subsequently cancelled for too few attendees, I want to commend Lolita for going ahead and teaching a smaller than expected class.  It is quite unusual that she does so.  She mentioned that she is not too many years from retiring from teaching, so if you want to learn this modality from the U.S. source, don't procrastinate.

Lolita Knight maintains a listing of certified Fijian Massage instructors at http://www.fijianmassage.com/fijian-massage-instructors.html

Christyn Rittenhouse is one of Lolita's certified instructors.  She has a nice description of the course at http://www.barefootmassage.org/fijimassage/index.htm
